Temporary accommodation for homeless men

Ozcare Hostels provide short term accommodation and support to get your life back on track.

When staying at one of our hostels, you will be asked to contribute towards your accommodation based on your income. Your daily charge includes:

Temporary accommodation – either dormitory style or single room for a maximum of three months

  • Meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Support for you to find permanent accommodation
  • Help with referrals, advocacy and information
  • Information about alternative housing options
  • Help to access health services and vocational support programs
  • Regular visits from support agencies

Optional support after you leave the hostel

Costs

$22 per day including meals, accommodation and services. You may be eligible for a discount depending on your income and length of stay.
Resident Requirements

To enter and remain in our hostels, you will be expected to:

  • Pay the daily charge, or have made an agreement with the coordinator
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene
  • Enter into a case management planning agreement and participate in relevant life skills programs that provide you with the skills needed to live independently
  • Be actively looking for permanent accommodation options
  • Meet your Centrelink obligations

Abide by the Conditions of Stay agreement you signed on arrival

In addition:
You must not bring alcohol or drugs onto the hostel grounds, or be under the influence of them when you return
If you are unruly or disrespectful towards staff or other clients you may be asked to leave
Violence and discrimination will not be tolerated
