Seahorse Nippers is an initiative of Bundaberg Surf Life Saving Club, Moore Park Surf Life Saving Club and Elliott Heads Surf Life Saving Club to give children with disabilities and special needs in the Bundaberg region the chance to be a nipper.

The national award-winning community program provides these children the opportunity to have fun at the beach and learn vital water safety skills under the supervision of qualified surf lifesavers.

The program runs over three Saturdays, during which the children participate in a range of activities and games, encompassing water skills and lifesaving techniques, all designed to slowly build their confidence in the water and teach them how to stay safe at the beach. Designed to encourage fun and learning, the activities are all performed with the help of a trained lifesaver buddy, and the program is a wonderful opportunity for children with special needs to join in and participate in nippers.
